Bulimia is a psycomsomatic disorder, in other words when your mind suffers, your body suffers as well. The interconnection of the mental and spiritual has been admitted both by doctors and by psychologists. Based on the works by K. Miss (PhD) and N. Shily (M.D.) I have come to simple conclusions which help to understand the reason for your own disease. There are 8 factors, behavior models causing the disease: 1. Emotional and psychological stress in life either unrelieved or deeply established. It can be either the feeling of being rejected, the feeling of non-conform, the feeling of having been loved not enough in the chidhood or an experienced trauma of losing a close person, or any other tragic event. 2. Our world perception by our own faith and beliefs. What we believe in is inseparably linked with emotions and has an effect on our health. If our emotional state is determined by negative views and experience it deprives us from energy and self-confidence. Lacking a positive life set and self-belief, having low self-esteem one is extremely susceptible to diseases. 3. We can't give and get love, though it may seem to be such an obvious and simple thing. Human lives are concentrated around love, and if there is any reserve, or there are no self-expression skills the physical body can be easily broken down in response to it. The one living without love and cordiality is first to fall ill. 4. Lack of humour and easy life perception. Lack of the ability to take separately urgent life issues and trifles. We take our day-to-day troubles too seriously which are not worth of feeling tensed or feared. Taking the life easily doesn't not make us light-headed but at the same time humour makes life last longer — it's the expression of our innate features. 5. Lack of the ability to set priorities. Bulimia is a fear to lose control over your life. Striving to control the events of your life and outer world generates anxiety and stresses. Sometimes we blindly set ourselves within the limits not realizing that to keep your life priorities means to take part in the natural process giving and getting, to be flexible, to respond and to achieve from a position of inner strength and confidence. It means a decisive vote while fulfilling your plans. 6. The way we pay attention to our bodies. Do we satisfy their needs? Nourishment, sleep, rest, exercise. Take away quality nourishment — and you will feel your body react. Take away sleep — you will feel the same. Your body is alive, it lives according to its physiology, and you better not get in the way. 7. Emotional void or sufferings of an unrealized personality, loss of the meaning of life. When gone astray, a person is especially vulnerable to diseases owing to their desperation, depression, and feeling good for nothing. The feeling of emptiness requires a fill-up. Enter Bulimia, the most resourceful of maladies — and substitutes the lack of emotional pleasure with the physical — food. 8. Inability to accept the challenges of life, understand the essence of problems, and search for concrete solutions. Proneness to play down hardships, avoid making decisions, inability to express one's feelings and problems only generates more and more stress that destroys the body. Once you overcome the problem and ailment, you become stronger. Consciously or unconsciously, everyone builds their own reality and their health. The tools we use to build health are inside us. These are our views, emotions and convictions, as well as the realization of our own spiritual self. Irina Kultchinskaya Internet journal Bulimiastop.com |
